TriZetto Announces Five-year Agreement With UnitedHealth Group's Specialized Care Services
NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. – April 22, 2002 – The TriZetto(R) Group, Inc. (NASDAQ: TZIX) signed a five-year software hosting agreement with the Specialized Care Services (SCS) division of UnitedHealth Group (NYSE: UNH). Under the agreement, SCS will receive Facets(R), TriZetto's comprehensive administrative software, as well as TriZetto's HealthWeb(R) Internet platform and new HIPAA Gateway(TM) product. HIPAA Gateway receives, routes, stores and queries electronic transactions in compliance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA). The applications will initially serve 3.5 million SCS members. TriZetto will host and manage the software from its Greenwood Village, Colo., data center.
TriZetto is a comprehensive source of healthcare information technology (IT) products and services, including enterprise and e-business applications, software hosting, business services and consulting. According to Dan Spirek, president of TriZetto's Business Solutions division, the agreement demonstrates the strength of TriZetto's single-source strategy.
